What is the European Union?
The European Union (EU) is an economic and political union or confederation of 27 member states which are located primarily in Europe.
The headquaters of the European Union are located in the city of Brussels in Belgium.
The EU traces its origins from the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) and the European Economic Community (EEC), formed by six countries in 1957 – 1958.
In the intervening years the EU has grown in size by the accession of new member states, and in power by the addition of policy areas to its remits.
The EU operates through a system of supranational independent institutions and intergovernmental negotiated decisions by the member states.
Important institutions of the EU include the European Commission, the Council of the European Union,
the European Council, the Court of Justice of the European Union, and the European Central Bank.
The European Parliament is elected every five years by EU citizens.
The EU has developed a single market through a standardised system of laws which apply in all member states.
EU policies aim to ensure the free movement of people, goods, services, and capital, enact legislation in justice and home affairs, and maintain common policies on trade, agriculture, fisheries and regional development.
A monetary union, the eurozone, was established in 1999 and, as of January 2012, is composed of 17 member states.
Through the Common Foreign and Security Policy the EU has developed a limited role in external relations and defence.
Permanent diplomatic missions have been established around the world and the EU is represented at the United Nations, the WTO, the G8 and the G-20.
The ultimate political agenda of the European Union:
Europe acknowledges the fact that it’s existence depends on the resources, minerals and material wealth of Africa.
During the perion of “scrumble for Africa”:
The very first meeting that was made to aid the the solving of the conflicts among the European countries which were fighting over the resources of Africa took place in Berlin in 1884-85.
After the need of forminng an organization which unites the whole entire Europe arose.
The six of nations which were present at beginning of forming of the European Union,
came together with the aim of stopping the conflicts which were taking place among the Europeans who were fighting against each other in Africa.
During the age of imperialism and colonialism which lead to the scramble for Africa, different European nations which were colonizing Africa ended up into the state of conflicting and fighting for the resources of Africa.
One of the main reason why the European Union was formed:
To counterfeit the conflict and to settle their disagreements, the European Union confederation was formed for the sake of uniting the different nations of Europe,
so that when they return back to Africa, this second time around, they will work as one united body to colonize and share the resources and material wealth of Africa.
