Interest- interest rate also means “usury”.
The word interest derives from the word called “usury”.
The word usury means; to use deceptive schemes in monetary, so that somebody who is in the process of paying off his debt may pay more money, more than the amount he borrowed.
You can also see this type of deception applied in the business of consumer debt, Christmas shopping and predatory lending.
Leviticus 25:37
You shall not lend him your money for usury, nor lend him your food at a profit.

Leviticus 25:34-36:
35 ‘If one of your brethren becomes poor, and falls into poverty among you, then you shall help him, like a stranger or a sojourner, that he may live with you. 36 Take no usury or interest from him; but fear your God, that your brother may live with you.
Deuteronomy 23:19:
You shall not charge interest to your brother, interest on money or food or any thing that is lent.
