Purim was the time frame in the Jewish History when Haman the evil man who wanted to destroy the Jewish people, received the evil which he intended to do against the Jewish nation recomposed upon his own head.
The evil plot of eliminating all the the Jews was supposed to fall on the 13th of Adar, (which falls around January, February or March)
Purim is celebrated by the wearing of masks (masquerade), listening and reading the megillah, (the megillah being the book of Esther in the bible), giving charity, eating, celebrating and being merry.
What is the purpose of wearing masks on Purim?
The act of wearing masks (masquerade) reflects the events of life that are masked with troubles, terror, fear, and bad experiences which are designed to threaten and destroy human life.
But on the other hand, when this mask of evil events or reproach is taken away, the face that is hidden behind the mask can become the joy, the peace, the happiness and the good event worth celebrating.
Purim is a season when one’s act of obedience towards God’s direction can turn the evil that is hunting his life into the joy, peace, celebration and prosperity that he/she needs.
