The word peace originates from the Hebrew word called “Shalom”.
The Hebrew word “Shalom” stems from the word called “shalam or salam” meaning;
peace,” prop, “prosperity, “completeness, soundness, favor, welfare,” from stem of shalam “some body who is in intact, complete, and in good health.”
“Shalom”-the peace which comes upon Israel due to the good relationship and covenant bond that is taking place between the God of Abraham and Israel.
The symbolic number of peace is number three.
This same word “Shalom” which means; “peace” is a Jewish, hebrew word of greeting used to mean both “hello” and “good-bye”; literally, it means “peace.”
The deeper meaning of the hebrew Shalom (peace) means to harmonize, to unite or to fuse together heaven and earth into the state of becoming one.
When Israel met as a congregation to celebrate God’s holy Sabbaths (holy days and feasts), they were commanded to greet themselves by orally speaking God’s peace to each other via the saying of the word “shalom’ to each other.
“shalom” (peace be unto you) is a Hebrew type of peace which is achieved via the relationship which goes on between God and His people.
