History (Historical) is the knowledge (information) about past events which pertains to a culture, to a tribe, to a tradition or to a religion.
The branch of knowledge dealing with past events.
The recording of events in the form of written information, which is used to explain the spiritual values, and the purpose of a certain given culture, tradition or religion.
Ancient History was always about the spiritual belief, spiritual explanations, and spiritual teachings of a certain culture.
Before the existence of the Greek Empire, each culture had it’s own historical information which was passed down to the younger generation via oral stories, and writings.
During the time of the Greek and Roman Empire, the Greeks and the Romans never had their own spiritual information which explains their history.
Through the expansion of their territories via warfare, the greeks and Romans started to investigate, to do research, and academic studies about the different types of history coming from the different cultures that they conquered.
And what ever sounded good to their intellectual reasoning through their academic studies, that became part of the information that made up their history. (Collected information coming from the Ancient babylonian, Egypt, Canaanites, Sidon etc, contributed to the making of the Roman and Greek history).
That is why the word “History” in Greek (from Greek ἱστορία – historia) means “inquiry, knowledge acquired by investigation or research”.
To the western world in Europe (influenced by the Greeks and the Romans), the word “history” means collected information about the past events which is gathered by investigation, research, academic study, philosophical debate, and reasoning done by the Historians.
Whereas to the other parts of the world, “history” is the information (past events) which pertains to ones culture and spirituals belief.
