Apostle; part1: what is your understanding on col 2:16-17? i need your help on this.
Why did apostle Paul say that; let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or new moon or sabbath? Does this mean that we as Christians are not obligated to keep these laws that God gave to the Jews?
Now; to be able to understand what apostle Paul meant there, you must also have a wide picture of what he was saying.
There were religious hypocrites at that time who were forcing those who were believing in the Name of Jesus (Yeshua) to do things and keep God laws which had not yet become relevant to their natural intellect and prophetic conviction.
Every thing you do in Christ must come first as a prophetic revelation, and then from a place of prophetic understanding, then step by step you begin to relate to what was taught and revealed.
Apostle paul was a Jew. And the difference between a Jew and a person who has come to believe in Jesus Christ who is a Jew is this;
Jews are obligated to keep all the laws of God, (the sabbaths, the new moon seasons, the festivals etc) at the very moment when they enter into the earth from their mamma’s womb.
But we who believe in Jesus Yeshua the Jew, we keep God’s laws by prophetic revelation.
The law must come to us as a prophetic promise and understanding first, and then the conviction which derives out of that becomes the driving fuel which makes us see the importance of keeping these same laws that God gave to the Jews.
Christians are also obligated to keep God’s laws, but from a prophetic point of view and conviction.
