Rosh Hashanah is the beginning of a new Hebrew year, but on the other hand, Rosh Hashanah is also a day of testing and a day of fulfilling promises.
On Rosh Hashanah Abraham was commanded to take his son Isaac, whom he loved, to mount Moriah and offer him there as a burnt offering.
Early in the morning Abraham saddled his donkey, took two of his servants and his son with him to the mount Moriah where he was supposed to sacrifice His son from.
When he reached on the mountain, he bound his son on the altar, stretched out his knife to sacrifice his son, and the angel of the Lord appeared to him to refrain him from sacrificing his son.
From that exact point of time (day of Rosh Hashanah) every promise of God to Abraham became a covenant surety that God had to fulfill.
The Angel of the Lord said to Abraham in Genesis 22:17 blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall posses the gate of their enemies…
Rosh Hashanah is a day of promise fulfillment, when we do our part pertaining to God’s will for our lives, God also fulfills the promises that He has promised in our lives.
