The Holy Sabbath of God (The 7th day):
The Holy Sabbath which was instituted by the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob falls or starts on a –
Friday evening; 18 minutes before sundown, and finishes on Saturday night.
What is the Sabbath all about?
In a Jewish home, the Sabbath pertains to the principles of homemaking,
the frequent act of welcoming God’s Sabbath on the seventh day is carried out by the woman (and the girls) in the Jewish family.
The woman fulfills the responsibility of welcoming the Sabbath, (ligting of the Sabbath candles) 18 minutes before sundown every Friday evening.
She also carries out the task of moulding the two loaves of Challah bread that are eaten on the Sabbath.
The meaning of the word Sabbath:
The word “Sabbath” means to make a dwelling or a home for God in the Earth-
To do a mitzvot which brings man and God into a relationship of intimacy.
The appointed time of God in which the Shekinah presence or energies of God descend into the Earth.
A season or point in time when God’s spiritual presence from heaven intimately connects with the physical energies of humans in the earth.
It is said that;
There where heaven and earth meets to enter into a covenant of agreement, that meeting place is called “Shabbat”.
The spiritual and redemptive purpose of the Sabbath:
These two loaves of Challah bread on the Sabbath table represents the two tablets which contained God’s ten commandments.
One loaf representing the old testament and the second loaf representing the new testament.
The number seven (Sabbath which falls on the seventh day) means;
completeness, wholeness, rest, Shalom (peace) or prosperity, this number also represents woman in Hebrew.
Genesis 2:3 God worked for six days and on the seventh day He rested,
and God commanded man to keep the seventh day holy because in it (in that day, number seven), “in it” He rested.
The commentary discusses; what did the writer mean by writing “in it”?
“In it” meaning; in that home, in that homemade environment, made and sustained by the righteous deeds of a godly holy woman and a holy marriage, there is rest (peace, prosperity, wholeness, and completeness).
The word Sabbath means to upgrade:
From the word “Sabbath” derives the word to “upgrade”;
the upgrading of ideas, human identity, and genetic sequence or human DNA, into the physical state of multiple constitutions.
(Constitutions which governs businesses, politics, agriculture, social science, social enterprise,
economics and financial institutions, derives from the practical mitzvah of keeping the Sabbath Holy).
