Hubris – exaggerated pride

The word “hubris” means; exaggerated pride or self-confidence which overlooks or disregards the rational and moral principles of life.
The type of self-confidence which derives from unhealthy (narcissism) state of up bringing.
<He was so confident and proud in himself, that he forgot to acknowledge his team during his speech>.
As for the pleasure in hubris, its cause is this: “men think that by ill-treating others they make their own superiority the greater”.
it is often associated with a lack of humility, disrespecting, refusing to listen to wise counsel or instruction, often implies that suffering or punishment will follow.
Before somebody gets into trouble, there is always a behavior of hubris that activates or puts that energy into force.
The proverb “pride goeth (goes) before a fall” (from the biblical Book of Proverbs, 16:18)
Hitler‘s early life and rise to power, his evil ruling of dictatorship which concluded with his fall and suicide in 1945.
The building of the tower of Babel illustrates what the word Hubris means.
