Here, SL’s bus driver Josefine Gustafsson student gift. Surveillance photos reveal how he first steals from the sleeping teenager – and then helps her off the bus. “I hardly dare to ride the bus itself anymore,” says Josefine Gustafsson, 19.
It was in August last year as Josefine Gustafsson met up with his former classmates after a long workday. In what time for going home, she sat on SL’s night bus to Armadale.
To stay awake, she played games on their mobile phone, but the eyelids grew heavier and eventually fell asleep Josefine with mobile phone in hand. Just before the bus terminus, she was awakened by the driver – and hurried off the bus.
– I was so ashamed that I had fallen asleep that I when I disembarked discover that both my phone and the 1800 crowns which I received in student gift is gone, says Josefine Gustafsson.
When her mother the day after called the bus company, she was told that her daughter was drunk and probably botched away their things.
Patrik Lillqvist who solved the case, requested for the Monitoring movie from the SL had in fact captured the entire event.
The film recording by the bus cams shows a sleeping Josefine, then left alone on the bus. Bus driver goes over to the sleeping teenager. First he takes her mobile and put it in your back pocket
Then he opens her bag, empties your wallet and put it back. Shortly thereafter, he wakes her and helps her off the bus. – You do not believe that bus drivers do that. These are people to trust, says Josefine.
Police suspect the driver had put this in the system when during the searches found even more mobile phones – and computers.
Some valuables found to belong to people riding the same bus, on other occasions, one of which, like Josefine fallen asleep while driving and brought by the driver.
During the trial, the bus driver admitted only that he had stolen from Josefine – to buy a gift for his mother. He refused, however, to the other allegations and the indictment of receiving dismissed. – Everything he said about how he came across the goods we proved was a lie. More we can not do, says Lillqvist.
The bus driver was sentenced in late April to probation and 160 hours of community service. He says to DN that he regrets his actions: – The phone is just lying there and I did not think it was her. It was tempting to take it.
But I realize how stupid it was. Since you stole her money. Now, a young girl afraid to ride the bus. How do you feel about that? – It is not good. I repent truly and has apologized. The bus driver was employed by a bus company that runs the SL.
