Puberty is a period of several years in which rapid physical growth and psychological changes occur, culminating in sexual maturity.
It is among the psychological stages in the process of adolescence.
On average, girls begin their puberty at ages 9–13; boys at ages 10–12.
Girls usually complete puberty by ages 15–17, while boys usually complete puberty by ages 16–17.
Puberty is when your emotions and physical body change from that of a girl to that of a woman or from a boy to a man. The changes happen because of sex hormones produced by the ovaries in girls.
For males, it is the first ejaculation, which occurs on average at age 13.
And these changes happens because of sex hormones produced by the testes in boys.
The major landmark of puberty for females is menarche, the onset of menstruation, which occurs on average between ages 12–13.
Major pubertal and biological changes include changes to the sex organs, height, weight, and muscle mass, as well as major changes in brain structure and organization.
It is the stage of life in which a child develops secondary sex characteristics (for example, a deeper voice and larger adam’s apple in boys, and development of breasts and more curved and prominent hips in girls) as his or her hormonal balance shifts strongly towards an adult state.
