The fight-or-flight response (also called the fight-or-flight-or-freeze response, hyperarousal, or the acute stress response) is a physiological reaction that occurs in response to a perceived harmful event, attack, or threat to survival.
The negative emotional state or a primitive mind state which makes a person to respond by reacting, fighting, accusing, finding fault or fleeing a way from a conflict or situation.
A person who is not able to rationalize a sitiuation or conflict, will always respond with a flight response.
It was first described by Walter Bradford Cannon.
His theory states that animals react to threats with a general discharge of the sympathetic nervous system, priming the animal for fighting or fleeing.
