Answer:
April Fools’ Day’ (alternatively April Fool’s Day, sometimes All Fools’ Day) is celebrated on 1 April spring time every year.
1 April is not a national holiday, but is widely recognized and celebrated in various countries as a day when people play practical jokes of hoaxes on each other, also known as April fools.
The practice of fooling each other on the 1st of April fools day originated from the ancient rituals of hoaxes, which were adopted by pope Gregory XIII and practiced by the catholic clergy known as the Lord of misrule.
A hoax is a deliberately fabricated falsehood (lies) made to masquerade as truth (replacing the truth with lies).
The word “hoax” derives or roots from the word “Hocus”.
Hocus is a shortening of the magic incantation hocus pocus, which in turn is a contraction of the phrase Hocus pocus, tontus talontus, vade celeriter jubeo, mentioned in Thomas Ady’s 1656 book A candle in the dark, or a treatise on the nature of witches and witchcraft.
A hoax is often intended as a practical joke or to cause embarrassment, to deceive to cheat or to provoke social or political change by raising people’s awareness of something via the art of propaganda.
It can also emerge from a marketing or advertising purpose which is designed to generate more customers for a certain product.
