The word sacrifice means; the act of giving up something that you want to keep especially in order to get or do something else.
To give up something with earthly value, so that you may gain something else of greater value.
To help someone or to save a group of people via the act of sacrificing. To fulfill the rights of a covenant.

To give up something of value or to carry out an act for the sake of establishing and showing your commitment towards the covenant that you made with someone.
