Telecommunication means; communication at a distance (as by telephone, mobile phone etc).
The word telecommunication was adapted from the French.
It is a compound of the Greek prefix tele- (τηλε-), meaning “distant”, and the Latin communicare, meaning “to share”.
The sharing of information among people that are distant from each other.
Telecommunication is communication at a distance by technological means, particularly through electrical signals or electromagnetic waves.
Communication between parties at a distance from one another.
Modern telecommunication systems—capable of transmitting telephone, fax, data, radio, internet WFI or television signals—can transmit large volumes of information over long distances.
Transmission may occur over cables, wireless radio relay systems, or via satellite links.
A revolution in wireless communication began in the first decade of the 20th century with the pioneering developments in radio communications by Guglielmo Marconi, who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1909.
