Chanukah is a season when most of the darkness or dark troubles occurred and also confronted Israel the nation of God.
But yet; all the negative troubles that has happened must also become converted into the light of lighting the Jewish menorah which takes place in the festival of Chanukah.
You see; the season of Chanukah and the season of Christmas are two different things, but yet in their differences; there is a thin line of deception which requires God’s wisdom for us to be able to celebrate the season right with out confusing these two festivals (Chanukah and Christmas).
If Christmas says; give presents to each other, and also be expectant to receive presents.
Chanukah says; make your light shine as you give into God’s will. Do you Notice the act of “giving” in both of these two festivals?
There is a thin line here; because both seasons emphasizes on giving.
But the question is; what type of giving does christmas promote, and what type of giving does Chanukah introduce to us?
Christmas giving:
Christmas giving focuses on the business of man of buying and selling man’s products. Notice what the scripture says about this type of business in Amos 8:5-6
Amos 8:5-6New King James Version (NKJV)
5 “When will the New Moon be past, That we may sell grain? And the Sabbath, That we may trade wheat?
Making the ephah small and the shekel large.
“Making the ephah (God’s tithe and offering) small, and the shekel (man made system of trading, taxing, falsifying the scales of business, giving out debts with high interest rate, buying and seling) large”,
Falsifying the scales by deceit, 6 That we may buy the poor for silver, And the needy for a pair of sandals— Even sell the bad wheat?”
In this time of Chanukah the temple of God which was occupied by the selling and buying and the worship of the pagan Greek gods, was liberated and dedicated, so that it may be restored to the service of God’s will.
Our human bodies are temple’s of the living God that needs dedicating in this season of Chanukah.
Now; The hebrew word Tsadik means righteous, priest or levitical order, (the levitical order being the form of order in which the Israelites gave their tithes, offerings into God’s temple and also lived, ate foods and behaved in a moral way which dedicated their bodies as a living temple for God in the earth).
From this word “Tsadik” roots or comes forth the word called “Sadakah”.
The word sadakah means to give charity, to give an offering or to sacrifice something which will bring someone’s identity into the status of being justified by God.
Chanukah is a season of giving Sadakah, but Christmas is a season of giving into a man made system of trading (buying and selling).
So what is Chanukah all about?
Chanukah is all about making that light of truth to shine over the deception that has made man to give all his worth into the system of the mark of the beast, thus; restoring the act of worship through giving back into it’s Hebrew status called sadakah (Sadic).
