He became the Passover lamb which takes away the sins of the world

On Passover;
Israel was commanded by God to sacrifice a lamb as a token of the unbreakable covenant of salvation and redemption.
But also Passover was the appointed time of God when Yeshua the Christ was crucified as lamb which takes a way the sins of the world.
Exodus 12:5-7 (NKJV)
5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats.
6 Now you shall keep it until the fourteenth day (on full moon) of the same month of Nisan
Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at twilight.
7 And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it.

The Lamb of God

1 Corinthians 5:7-8
Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened.
For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
