Now the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, where Israel was held captive, saying, this month of Nisan shall be your beginning of months;
it shall be the first month of the year to you (Exodus 12:1-2).
Nisan commemorates the beginning of obedience…
Nisan shall be the beginning of obedience and a time of punishing all disobedience (Exodus 12:21-25), which will initiate Israel into the counting of time or the following of God’s months on God’s Hebrew calendar.
Why was the Passover Lamb sacrificed?
The beginning of following of God’s calendar must begin from the time when you have finished to sacrifice the Passover lamb .
After Israel had finished sacrificing the Passover lamb, their departure from Egypt began.
The sacrifice of the Passover lamb marked the beginning of obedience, which activated the act of forsaking the pagan ritual of following the Egyptian calendar which was designed in the honor of the sun god.
Passover activates the beginning of counting time on Gods calendar:
The Passover celebration also commemorated the beginning and the sanctifying of time through the act of counting time, days and the years using the Hebrew (God’s) calendar.
In the month of Nisan when the season Passover occurs, this was also the same season when Adam and Eve committed the sin of eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and thus to counterfeit the disobedience, arrogance and rebellion which was activated by Adam and Eve,
this same month of Nisan became the time of beginning to move into God’s infrastructure of obedience, humbleness and willingness to learn and follow time on God’s Hebrew calendar.
