Racism is a hatred of another race or races:
Prejudices that have been accepted in a society, and gained political support, which then turns into hatred , humiliation, anti-Semitism, insult, injustice in the system, violent behaviours and discrimination that goes against a certain type of people .
because without the support of political or economic power, prejudice would not be able to manifest as an accepted pervasive cultural trend, institutional or social phenomenon.
Racism is fear, lack of knowledge, envy, and prejudice which has come together to hate a person who appears to be different accodring to the expression of his/her cultural traits and colour of the skin.
Scientific racism:
In the 19th century, some scientists subscribed to the belief that the human population is divided into races, that some races were inferior to others, and that differential treatment of races (racism) was consequently justified. Such theories are generally termed scientific racism.
Racism- the considering of one’s race to be more superior:
A belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human racial groups determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one’s own race is superior and has the right to dominate others or that a particular racial group is inferior to the others.
Apolicy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering or cultivating such a doctrine;discrimination. An ideology which upholds certain cultural traits to be more superior, better, of more value than those of other cultures….Hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.
Research has proven that through the evolving of the different cultures, the human behavior of racism has been used by scientific racism with the intentions of trying to preserve the values of the western culture from being mixed with other biological traits deriving from other cultures.
In the multicultural status of the world where we have a mix of different races, people coming from different cultures living in a multicultural society, the ideology of scientific racism stands the risk of being challenged, opposed, questioned and resisted by the present generation of multiculturalism.
Historically, racism was a major driving force behind the Transatlantic slave trade. Racism has played a role in genocides such as the Holocaust, the Armenian genocide, and colonial projects like the European colonization of the Americas, Africa, and Asia.
