First Fruits is a religious offering of the first agricultural produce of the harvest.
In the Hebrew religion (Judaism) and Christianity, the first fruits were given to the priests as an offering to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
This type of offering was taken from the first fruits which came from their harvest.
When was the first fruits given as an offering?
The major obligation to bring First Fruits (henceforth: Bikkurim) to the Temple began at the festival of Shavuot (Pentecost) and continued until the festival of Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles).
Romans 8:23 NKJ The first fruits in the newtestament:
23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.
James 1:18:
18 Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.
Galatians 5:22:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness…
When the children of Israel had finished harvesting their fruits, they took from it the first fruits which belonged to God first,
And this was done as an act of acknowledging God as the One who enable’s their planted plants to bear fruit and He is also the giver of their harvest seasons.
As they brought their first fruits, they were in the state love with God’s commandment of bringing their first fruits, they were joyful, the long-suffering and faithfulness they applied while taking care of the crops until they harvested,
this also became the psychological and emotional state in which the gave their first fruits
The emotional and psychological status of the people (of being joyful because of their harvest, their faithfulness, love for God, kindness etc), also came along with the first fruits which they gave to God as an offering.
