Code of Ur Nammu:
The other code of law is called the Code of Ur-Nammu is the oldest known law code surviving today.
It was written on tablets, in the Sumerian language c. 2100–2050 BC.
The inscriptions directly credits the laws to king Ur-Nammu of Ur. People in Ur worshiped different god’s, Moon goddess Nana, the sun god and many others gods.
This Code of law combined together the astrological predications of Babylon’s pagan festivals, season (dates) in which their gods were worshiped, and the religious law which governed the human social interactions and the agricultural laws of farming.
During the period of the Roman empire, the writings of this code were utilized by the Catholic church.
And from Rome, this code of law was implemented into the civil code of law which governs the western world via the gregorian calendar.
