David was the second king of Israel.
When Israel desired to have a king who will rule over them liken unto how kings ruled over the nations that surrounded Israel, God gave Israel their 1st king who suited their description who was known as “Saul”.
After God had finished giving the people their king, He decided to elect His own king, a man of His own heart known as David.
David was the son of Jesse also known as Yishai in Hebrew.
Jesse being the grand son of Boaz who descended from the city of Bethlehem in the land of Judah.
David’s great grand mother was know as Ruth (the moabite-Gentile) who married Boaz the Jew.
King David — forefather of Joseph, the foster-father of Yeshua whom the Christians call Jesus Christ.
Thus the faithful Ruth was an ancestor of Yeshua whom the Christians call Jesus.
David reigned as king for 40 years:
David’s reign over Israel as a king lasted for forty years (2884-2924); the first seven years he reigned in Hebron over the tribe of Judah, and the remaining thirty-three years he reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel
David’s birth place:
David was born in Bethlehem and also in Bethlehem he was anointed as king by the prophet Samuel after being brought in from tending his father’s sheep.
When was David born?
King David was also born on Shavuot, also known as Pentecost in English, which falls in the 3rd month known as Sivan on the Hebrew, Jewish God’s calendar..
David’s death:
King David also died in the 3rd month of Sivan on the 6th of Sivan according to the Jewish, God’s calendar.
King David passed away on the festival of Shavuot, in the year 2924 (837 BCE).
