Hype is a situation in which something is advertised and discussed in newspapers, on television, television shows, radio programs etc. which are broadcasted a lot in order to attract everyone’s interest:
Media hype:
There’s been a lot of hype around/surrounding his latest film.
Something which is designed with the intentions of stimulating or influencing the person’s mental ability into the state of making decisions which are not rational, lacking moral assessment and self-driven with selfish motives.
Something that is promoted with the intentions of increasing the immoral habit of competition, jealousy, envy and self-seeking among the social groups of people that dwell in a certain community
I’ve been put off reading the book by all the hype.
