What does the word obedience mean?
noun
Obedience means:- compliance with an order, request, or law. Being submissive to the authority which requires one’s obedience.
To be in agreement with the moral structure which governs one’s positive moral attitude.
Before things go well in a person’s life, that person must have followed, been subordinate or obeyed the positive moral instructions which led him/her into that state.
Hebrews 5:8:
8 though He was a Son of God, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.
2 Corinthians 10:6
… and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
Romans 6:16:
Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves, slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death or of obedience leading to righteousness?
God’s covering & angelic protection over those who are in obedience:
Exodus 23:20-22
20 “Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.
21 Beware of Him and obey His voice; do not provoke Him, for He will not pardon your transgressions; for My name is in Him.
But the opposite is also true;
A person’s life which ends up into destruction, unhealthy living, mental disorder, distress, problems or sudden accidents,
that person must have been disobedient, proud, arrogant or rebellious toward the moral instructions that could have saved him or her from such negative incidents.
