What is the meaning of the word repent?
Verb:
To feel or express sincere regret or remorse about one’s wrongdoing or sin.
The English word repent derives from the Hebrew word called “Teshuvah”.
Teshuvah – means to turn back to God via the act of repentance, an act which leads to the human attribute of forgiveness or to forgive each other.
Mark 1:15
and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”
Synonyms:
feel remorse for, regret, be sorry for, rue, reproach oneself for, be ashamed of, feel contrite about, wish that one had not done something;
Why is it hard for people to repent?
In a country where people are governed by the democratic policies of extreme feminism, LGTB rights, racism, homosexuality, Antisemitism, colonialism,
People who are living under such political governance will find it very hard to repent from their evil deeds.
Any message that is supposed to bring repentance into their lives, is always condemned as a message which is trying to wrongly judge them.
And thus the message of repentance will always have no place in a democratic society.
Repentance:
view or think of (an action or mission) with deep regret or remorse.
