Revelation 5:8: Incense burning in scriptures:
Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
Exodus 40:27:
and he (the priest) burned sweet incense on it- (on the altar of prayer), as the Lord had commanded Moses.
The symbolic meaning of incense:
The incense (Keturah) represented the energies of the feminine in a holy marriage, orgasm, lovemaking, prayers, sexual energy, home-making, family economics, the obedience that the people practiced towards God’s commandments, and the mitzvah which were done via the humans’ state of intimacy with God.
Fire burning the incense:
The fire was the element that purified or converted those energies into the nature of a sweet smelling aroma in the Nostrils of God.
Exodus 30:7:
“Aaron (the priest) shall burn on it sweet incense every morning; when he tends the lamps, he shall burn incense on it.
Role of the priest:
The priest was the medium who gathered together those collective desires, acts of faith, obedience, tithes, and the collective energies of homemaking coming from the community of Israel,
and through the priest’s prayers combined with the burning of incense, those positive deeds were transformed, molded, cultivated, mothered and converted into a sweet smelling aroma in the nostrils of God.
Revelation 8:3-6
3 Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar.
He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
4 And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand.
5 Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth.
And there were noises, thunderings, lightning, and an earthquake (covenant establishment).
Exodus 30:8:
And when Aaron lights the lamps at twilight, he shall burn incense on it, a perpetual incense before the Lord throughout your generations.
Amen to that!
