Psalms 64:1-10
Oppressed by the Wicked but Rejoicing in the Lord
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
64 Hear my voice, O God, in my meditation; Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
2 Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, From the rebellion of the workers of iniquity,
The words of the wicked become evils dreams, witchcraft words of accusations, plotting, arrows of discomfort, into the mental state of the righteous or prayer warriors.
And God allows this to happen because He wants the righteous to use the evil arrows of the wicked by returning them back into the bosom of the wicked.
Psalm 64: 3:
3 Who sharpen their tongue like a sword, And bend their bows to shoot their arrows—bitter words,
1 John 4:18:
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
The words and the plotting of the wicked are like arrows of fear, they make someone lose trust, doubt God, and his faith in God…
Psalm 64: 4-6:
4 That they may shoot in secret at the blameless; Suddenly they shoot at him and do not fear.
5 They encourage themselves in an evil matter; They talk of laying snares secretly; They say, “Who will see them?”
6 They devise iniquities: “We have perfected a shrewd scheme.” Both the inward thought and the heart of man are deep.
Return the evil back to the sender:
The plot of the wicked against the righteous becomes their reward:
God returns the evil of the wicked upon their own heads:
Psalm 64:7-10:
7 But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; Suddenly they shall be wounded.
8 So He will make them stumble over their own tongue; All who see them shall flee away.
9 All men shall fear and shall declare the work of God; For they shall wisely consider His doing.
10 The righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and trust in Him. And all the upright in heart shall glory.
Psalm 34:21
21 Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned.
The weapons you use to fight the enemy are in God:
2 Corinthians 10:4-6:
4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
Obedience applied (altar – offering given)
2 Corinthians 10:6
6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
