Doing business in East Africa

The Swedish-East African Chamber of Commerce (SWEACC) held a business conference known as;financing your new venture- stumbling block? The conference took place on the 7th of February, 2012 in Stockholm (Sweden). The main theme of the whole conference was aiming at motivating and giving business strategies to business companies and investors that are interested in working with the African market of business in East Africa. Maria Borelius was the Moderator of the conference. The speakers who spoke at the conference were Speakers like; Ayesa Amilion (WSI DIgital Marketing), Jan Furuvald (Kapitalguiden), Rebbecka Lundgren (policy advisor) and Robert Wickman (head of unit marketing) from EKN, Ambassador Mia af Rantzien (ministry foreign affairs), Christna Rydegran from Nordea, Staffan Ahl from Swedfund, Camilla Wirseen, who represented peepoople, and Joseph Tomusange who is the H E Ambassador of Uganda in Danmark. Even though Investing and doing business in Africa can look like a step of taking a high risk due to the disadvantages of corruption, and other unstable events that plagues Africa, but on the other hand the conference brought a new perspective and strategic ways that can enable one’s business to be successful and flourish in East Africa. For those of you who are interested in doing business in East Africa, or it could be that you want to network with investors and other business people who are doing business in East Africa.
