What gives dictators the power to rule over others

You should remember that leaders (presidents, kings, officers, magistrates etc), are just a reflection of those people that they lead.
When a leader is oppressing and behaving like a dictator over the people he governs, such behaviours deriving from a leader are motivated, empowered and inspired by the same people that he dictates.
On psychological level:
The selfishness, the love of money, the hatred, the corruption, the deception, the discrimination, the prejudice, the immorality and violence which is taking place among the citizens of a nation, becomes the transformed collective energy or collective conscious which continues to empower a dictator’s leadership over a nation or group of people.
Dictators and self seeking politicians are just a reflection of how the people or a nation they govern behaves towards each other.
Look at the strategies of a dictator: When a dictator is in leadership he always gives his people democratic rights to engage into the act of wild parties (disco night clubs leading to the immoral acts of group sex, bestiality, music artistes who sing lyrics of violence, sexual immorality, lyrics of profanity, pornographic music videos, the using of the F***** word), increases among the entertainers and those who are entertained.
Turning the citizens into addicted victims:
The act of consuming drugs, alcohol, pharmaceutical drugs, genetic modified foods which are dangerous and intoxicating towards the human body increases among the citizens that a dictator governs.
Divide and rule:
Planting seeds of discord and magnifying the different opinions which generates into strife and conflicts among people, becomes the strategy used by media.
As the different groups of people are becoming more divided and segregated in a nation, this negative energy eventually generates into disunity, conflicts, war, competition, jealousy, profanity, insult, prejudice, racism, antisemitism among the people a dictator leads.
While the people are being entertained by engaging into the acts of fulfilling their democratic rights which lines up with the behaviours mentioned above, that is how our so called dictators and self seeking politicians prolong their leadership of dictatorship over a nation.
