The day of “Simchat Torah” takes place right after The feast of Tabernacles which is called Sukkot in Hebrew,
This day commemorates the time of rejoicing. The word “Simchat” means; “the joy of the Torah”.
Simchat Torah is the last day which completes the feast of Tabernacles, being the last which comes after the feast of Tabernacles.
On this day Israel takes the Torah scroll which contains God’s commandments and dances with it, as a sign of Joy and appreciation for God’s instructions and Torah teachings that gives Life.
A nother saying declares; Due to the nature of the month, being the season which commemorates the time of Jubilee, the erasing of quility, the release from debts and the forgiving of sins which takes place in this month of Tishrei, this is one of the reasons why the day becomes a day of joy and dancing.
In some messianic/Christian congregations, this has become a day of dancing with the bible.
Simchat Torah is celebrated in the Hebrew month called Tishrei on the Hebrew (God’s) calendar.
This month falls in September or October in the season of Autumn.
