When Obote emerged forth, desiring to rule Uganda; is only threat was the authority that Buganda and the other kingdoms had in the area of governing and administrating their own affairs via the Federal agreement.

Obote responded by using the army led by Idi Amin, to storm the Kabaka’s palace on May 24 1966, and the Kabaka fled to Britain.

In 1967, the Parliament converted itself into a constituent assembly via Obote’s authority, Obote declares himself to be the president of Uganda,

which among other things abolished all the kingdoms and destroyed the federal agreement alliance.

Then all the power and authority of Uganda took a centralized direction of dictatorship.

From that time until now, Uganda has been ruled by dictators (presidents) who insist on ignoring the needs of the majority, and choose to feed the greed of the few self elected politicians that are money hungry.
