Week 2 Gevurah – Discipline and vigor:
Omer counting day 14.
Majesty – Discipline (the majesty/dignity side of discipline) Malchut – Gevurah in Hebrew.
Discipline must enhance the qualities of majesty (being able to inspire others) and dignity (the state of being able to encourage, to edify and to raise up in rank).
Knowing that the reason why you discipline yourself or others is not because of becoming good on how you carry out your disciplining methods, but it’s because of creating a better environment of fellowship and relationships with others.
If you want to cultivate a disciplined character in others or yourself, you must also come up with ways to compliment every step you take towards your goal even if you have achieved the results you want or not.
Then after complimenting yourself or your students, that’s when you can think of adjusting, correcting and dealing with the areas that you feel needs to be improved.
Ask yourself:
Am I quick in telling others their mistakes and talking about other people’s shortcomings?
How will it make me feel if someone I love and respect always tells me about my mistakes?
Exercise of the day:
Compliment and encourage someone that you feel that needs your encouragement and then observe their response towards what you have just done.
