Conviction is the act of convincing a person of error or of compelling the admission of a truth.

When the truth is spoken, it also activates a feeling of conviction which leads to the act or response of doing what is required to be done, for example;

If a person has stolen something from someone, or it could be that he is lying about something, when the truth has been spoken or presented, then his response will be the act of apologising, and also restoring what he has stolen.

On a psychological level:

So to say; the human mind is influenced by spoken words, music, opinions, information, ideas, discussions, imagination etc, but conviction is the status when the processed information from the brain (or one’s mindset) starts to affect the blood cells through the neurones or neural network, and as a result; as the heart is pumping blood in one’s body, that blood is also full chemical stimuli which leads to the state of conviction.

A conviction is something certain: a judgment of guilty in court and a strong belief are both convictions.

 the act or process of finding a person guilty of a crime especially in a court of law.

In the legal world, when a judge or jury convicts someone of a crime — finding them guilty — this is called a conviction. 

Prosecutors try to get convictions, and defense attorneys try to prevent them. Also, convictions are beliefs — principles. 

The United States was founded on many convictions, such as the belief in free speech and separation of church and state. When you have a conviction, you’re certain of something.
