Colonialism: The European colonial period was the era from the 1500s to, arguably, the 1900s when several European powers (particularly, Spain, Portugal, Britain, the Netherlands and France) established colonies in Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
Colonialism means; “the state of being colonized and ruled by colonial masters or colonial governors”.
Also called: imperialism or the policy and practice of power in extending control over weaker peoples or areas.
This also involved the preaching and the using of the name of Jesus, as tool of invoking the supremes of the white western race over their subjects.
During the people’s revolution which resulted into the liberation of becoming independent (gaining independence) from colonialism, the colonial masters decided to put in force a system of president election which kept the nations they colonized under their western authority.
Most of the nations in Africa, Asia and the United states of America became independent colonial regions, which shifted from the system of being ruled by their colonial masters, into the system of being ruled by elected presidents.
