In the period between the year 1879 and 1881, a man by the name of Pastor Russell from the protestant religion the founded the bible student movement. He established Zion watch Tower tract society which is the headquarters of the Jehovah’s Witness today.
The Jehovah’s Witnesses was begun by Charles Taze Russell in 1872. He was born on February 16, 1852.
He had great difficulty in dealing with the doctrine of eternal hell fire. His studies came to deny not only eternal punishment, but also the Trinity, and the deity of Christ and the Holy Spirit.
Russell claimed that the Bible could be only understood according to his interpretations and he controlled what was written in the Watchtower magazine.
Russell died on Oct. 31, 1916, After his death,a Missouri lawyer named Joseph Franklin Rutherford took over the presidency of the Watch Tower Society.
Division rose up through the current new president that was leading the International Bible Students Association at that time, and as a result many members left the group but those who stayed and remained in fellowship with the watch Tower Society and in 1931 Rutherford changed the name of the organization to “The Jehovah’s Witnesses.”
Jehovah witness was identified as a Christian belief through the leadership of their 3rd president Joseph Franklin Rutherford, but still their was controversies regarding the concept of Trinity, where most of the Christians claim that The God head (being the Trinity) is made up of the Father God, the Son Jesus Christ and the Holy spirit, well as the Jehovah witness claim that The father God and Jesus Chris are two different individuals and they are not equal.
One of the fundamental teachings of Jehovah witness denies the crucification of Jesus Christ taking place on a cross. They claim that He was crucified on a wooden pole and this is also one of the beliefs that have brought them in conflict with the other christian denominations.
