The word philosophy itself originated in ancient Greece: philosophia (φιλοσοφία), which literally means “the love of wisdom” (φιλεῖν – philein “to love” and σοφία – sophia “wisdom”, in the sense of knowledge).
Philosophy; being the intellectual study of humanism or human reasoning, the learning which focused on the feelings, the emotions, and animalistic traits in the human nature.
(“Do what you feel is right as along as the feeling is good and pleasurable-gymnasium“)
In the field of Philosophy, the Greek philosophers used to seek their wisdom (new ideas) from the different cultures that surrounded them.
Some of their ideas derived from the Babylonian kingdom, some came from the Egyptian kingdom and other kingdoms that existed before Greece.
All the collected ideas from the different cultures became a philosophical discussion, a practice of gymnasium and an academic study of knowledge pursuit and research.
As soon as an idea had been tested and proved via philosphy, they then proclaimed and attributed it to be an energy of wisdom which came from their (Greek) supreme god called “Zeus“.
