To Inherite or inheritance

A: The word inheritance means; to receive from the ancestral lineage of the father as a right or title descendible by law (constituted or declared) at the ancestor’s death.

B : to receive as a devise or legacy deriving from the father’s side, passed down to the children. That which is given to the children by the father via the cultural process of inheriting.
It is written in Deuteronomy 1:8 See, I have set the land before you; go in and possess the land which the Lord swore to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—to give to them and their descendants after them as an inheritance.
Inhertance; To receive from a parent or ancestor by genetic transmission, oral teaching, moral instructions or sexual transmission.

The passing down of the father’s name (values, moral structure, possessions, spiritual role or genetic traits) via the giving of the name of the husband to the wife and the children of his house hold.
This can take on a negative influence over the family due to the immoral nature of the father, or it could also benefit the family in a positive way if the father’s life is structured according to moral values of life.
