The name “Abraham” means; the father of many nations. 

From the identity of Abram, (in Hebrew the name Abram stands for;

A person with great intellect or intelligence). 

Abram’s identity and spiritual status was transformed or changed from “Abram” to “Abraham” by God (Genesis 17:3-5).

What is the mean of the name Abraham?

The name Abraham means; the Father of many nations

Genesis 18:18 says: since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

Matthew 22:32 says; ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’.

The lineage of Abraham’s seed or descendants:

Abraham begot Isaac, and Isaac begot Jacob, Jacob begot the twelve tribes or the twelve sons of Jacob also called the Jewish nation, and through the twelve tribes or the Jewish nation- God gave us the prophets, the twelve Apostles who were discipled under the ministry of Yeshua, Jesus Christ. 

Abraham – The father of Christianity & Judaism:

And from the 12 tribes of Israel and the 12 disciples of Yeshua whom the Christian call Jesus we got the bible, (Old testament and the New testament) including the religion of Judaism and Christianity.

Abraham – The father of Islam:

Abraham begot a son called Ishmael from an Egyptian woman called Hagar, and from the descendants of Ishmael, this is where the religion of Islam derives it’s roots – Genesis 16:11-16 .

Abraham – The father of Hinduism:

After the death of Sarah, Abraham remarried a woman by the name of Keturah, and from Keturah (Abraham’s wife) derives forth the religion of Hinduism and Buddhism –Genesis 25:1-6.

Genesis 25:1-6 declares that:- the sons of Keturah were given gifts and sent off by Abraham toward the country of the east. 

From the location where Abraham was at that time, the country of the east was located in the land known as Asia (India).

And thus the oral Jewish laws declares; “sent off towards the country of the east” also referred to the possession of the office a Hindu priest.
