A basic definition of wisdom is the right use of knowledge. The opposite of wisdom is folly.
Wisdom is that which is acquired via the teachings of moral values and the practicing of moral activities, whereas intelligence is acquired via the western academic and philosophical studies.
Wisdom is not the same as intelligence:
Wisdom is the ability to discern inner qualities and relationships :
Wisdom is that which is inherited, taught and received from the wise.
Proverbs 10:31The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, But the perverse tongue will be cut out.
When wisdom speaks, understanding on how to do things and how to solve problems is also achieved.
Wisdom involves an understanding of people, things, events, time, spiritual concepts and situations, and the willingness and the ability to apply perceptions, judgments and actions in keeping with an understanding of what is the right course of actions.
Wisdom often requires control of one’s emotional reactions (the “passions”) so that universal principles, values, reason and knowledge prevail to determine one’s actions.
In short; wisdom is a disposition to find the truth coupled with an optimum judgement as to right actions.
The instructions and teachings of the wise brings forth an understanding which pertains to Joy, peace and a life prosperity.
Ecclsiastes 7:12…For wisdom is a defense… but the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it.
Psalm 111:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments.
