A year is the orbital period of the Earth moving in its orbit around the Sun.
A year is a unit of time that is equal to 12 months or 365 or sometimes 366 days.
: the regular period of 12 months that begins in January and ends in December on the Gregorian calendar.
On the Hebrew calendar, the beginning of months starts in the month of Nisan, which falls around spring time – Passover (March/April).
And the beginning of a Hebrew year starts in Autumn time –Roshhashanah (September/October).
It takes 365 days (equivalent to a year) for the earth to complete the orbiting around the sun.
For an observer on the Earth, this corresponds to the period it takes the Sun to complete one course throughout the zodiac along the ecliptic.
As the earth orbits around the sun, the earth goes through the 12 zodiac signs which corresponds to the 12 months of a year.
In astronomy, the Julian year is a unit of time, defined as 365.25 days of 86400 SI seconds each (no leap seconds).
In a complete year there are 4 different seasons; (Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter).
