When you are motivating or trying to get someone to change from his negative self into his positive self, then you have to look into the psychological state of what he or she fears.
4 points that you need to deal with via your motivating skills:
Motivating a person from the state of being fearful, into the status of ” I can do it”
Ask yourself?
1: What constructs the status of his or her fears?
2: What are the negative experiences he or she has gone through?
3: What are the verbal, physical and mental abuse which have occurred in one’s life?
4: And what negative experiences has the person inherited from the genetic traits of his or her bloodline (family or parents)?
The emotional state of fear, triggering the mental state of fault finding.
Human beings will always reflect their emotional state of fear, when ever the opportunity of change comes their way.
Reacting in fear:
And they do this by finding faults and accusing others of the same failures and mistakes that they themselves have experienced.
That is why, in your story line of motivating others, you must have a database of testimonies, goals, moments of success or victories that you have achieved.
Some times speaking about your achievements may sound a little bit boastful, but it is the only testimony that will guarantee to a person who has failed or be been condemned as a failure, to be able to mirror (mirror neuron) himself through your own testimony.
Perceiving one’s reality through the reflection of his leader or Role model:
There is a saying that says;
“if you can do it, I can also do it”
You can not motivate people to go where you have not gone, neither can you motivate them to do what you can not do.
People learn by example;
A good leader or teacher can influence his followers to imitate what he does, but when they fully grow into their own full potential, they will be able to do more than their teacher or leader…
