Dennis J. Bennett who belonged to the American protestant Episcopal church began the Charismatic movement) stressing the importance of the gifts of the Spirit

and the freedom in the spirit, to the extent that people started to pursue after miracles and what God can do for them.


A resistance and rebellion towards God’s commandments in the old testament increased among the believers), and the real purpose of their salvation seemed to have been lost along the way.

In this charismatic movement people were focused on the gifts of spirit and the miracles that proceed out of these gifts, which led to the influence that compelled the people to seek God for the sake of getting their selfish needs met, rather than seeking Him for the growth of their spiritual character.

The Charismatic movement also had a lot of believes concerning the Holy Spirit that were very similar to those of the Pentecostal movement.
